The Medical Diagnostic Technician is a trained health-care worker that will work in both the medical and x-ray labs. Work includes assisting laboratory supervisor in developing and evaluating performance and quality control procedures. Duties may include executing procedures; performing preliminary analysis; providing statistical analyses and interpretation, and presentation of results; Collect, prepare and process laboratory specimens request; Perform laboratory procedures of waived and moderate complexity: CBC, glucose, hemoccult, influenza, hemoglobin A1C, monotest, pinworm prep, rapid strep A, erthrocyte sedimentation rate, urnialysis, vaginal smears, skin KOH smears, etc.
The Medical Diagnostic Technician is to perform skilled technical work in the administration of radiologic procedures used for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities include the use of x-ray equipment to take pictures of the inside of the body so that conditions, diseases, or injury can be visualized and diagnosed. Duties performed include: taking, developing, interpreting radiographs and tests; using and maintaining technical equipment effectively and/or assisting physicians during procedures.
Work involves working directly with patients – preparing patients for procedures, positioning patients and providing instruction. Work may include training and/or supervising others. Employee will be supervised by the lab supervisor while in the lab.
