In this role, you will assist the Senior Utilities Accountant / Analyst in the planning and preparation of the utilities commodity (usage) budget for the University. The commodity (usage) budget approximates $15 to $20 million a year. You will be responsible for:
- supporting new campus and SUNY energy initiatives and technical applications
- generating reports reflecting financial, rate and usage consumption
- general accounting (payables, receivables, general ledger and reconciliation) for utilities accounts; rate development and calculation for inter-departmental utilities cost allocations.

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in accounting, business management, economics or related field is required.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and customer service skills are mandatory.
Demonstrated experience with financial procedures and processes, cost accounting, financial planning and analysis and utilities management are preferred. Technical procurement experience interpreting contracts and tariffs related to utilities and experience working with utility grade metering data acquisition systems are desirable.
