The Website Manager works collaboratively with faculty and staff to design, develop, and implement web-based systems and services. This individual supports the 10,000-page Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences web property, which is an increasingly critical and visible piece of the school’s mission to be recognized as one of the nation’s leading public medical schools. The Website Manager provides support and training for issues related to web functionality, accessibility, user experience, mobile optimization, search engine optimization, and content management system administration for the Jacobs School's Office of Communications. Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the communications director, content editors, subject matter experts, and technology personnel to design, build, maintain, and enhance websites and content in the Jacobs School portfolio to drive online usage and increase user satisfaction
- Monitor and analyze the overall web experience with a focus on accessibility, optimizing content management for end users
- Develop and maintain a hybrid web governance model, covering multiple websites, web stewards, and electronic forms
- Develop and implement best practices, brand standards and policies for digital content
- Provide recommendations for improvements and new initiatives
- Train content authors and manage website access permissions
- Act as liaison to University Communications and other UB communicators
- Implementation and policing of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000
