Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and three years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Advanced written communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
  • Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
  • Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.

Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with programs in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Access. High competency with Excel highly desirable.
Ability to create Acrobat documents.
Ability to design newsletters, flyers, etc.
Experience organizing events and meetings.
Experience in office management, including supervision of subordinates.
Ability to interact professionally and communicate collegially and clearly- orally and in writing- with the department chair, faculty, staff, students, and alumni as well as administrators and professional staff in other units on campus.
Accuracy in maintaining the financial records of the department and communicating clearly with account holders regarding rules governing a variety of financial accounts.
Ability to think creatively and pro-actively and to work independently in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
High attention to detail.
*Being bilingual in English and Spanish is not a requirement but a plus
