The department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences is seeking an outstanding candidate to work in a research environment with Dr. Mietlicki-Baase investigating the neurohormonal controls of energy balance in rodent models. The Research Technician II will work both independently and as part of a larger research team in projects to elucidate mechanisms controlling food intake, body weight, and food reward. Understanding more about the neural and hormonal underpinnings of energy balance may help to identify novel treatments for obesity. This position is scheduled for a 40 hour/week position with some weekend work required.

Job duties include:
  • Conducting animal model experiments
  • Conducting assays
  • Collection, entry, and analysis of data
  • Lab maintenance, and supply inventory and ordering
  • Guiding students and other lab members through experiments and procedures
