The Human Resources Office at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott Campus is expanding and looking for an experienced Employee Relations and Staffing Specialist to join the team.  Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Specialist will provide leadership, consultation, advice, coaching, education and decision-making support to managers and employees regarding employment related matters.  This includes employee relations, performance management, and working with Prescott and University HR leadership on resolving employee discipline issues.  The Employee Relations and Staffing Specialist will also support the recruitment and staffing efforts within the Campus and work to proactively create and maintain a well-qualified and diverse pool of faculty candidates.  The position is set to begin in late August, 2018.
Responsibilities include the following:

Serve as the initial point of contact for leaders and employees regarding policy and procedure questions.

Provide guidance, problem resolution and facilitation in areas of employee relations, performance management and corrective action/discipline.

Advise both employee and management regarding employee relations policies, procedures, and documentation.

Gain a strong understanding of University Administrative Policy and Procedure Manual and Faculty Handbook.

Support Title IX and conduct workplace-related investigations.

Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers in the development of performance improvement plans and provide them coaching tips on how to better manage conflict situations.

Manage legal responses to Unemployment, EEOC or other labor relation issues in collaboration with the VP and Chief Human Resource Officer and General Counsel.

Manage, track and image annual performance reviews.

Oversee and actively participate in the selection process from screening through job offer and onboarding of faculty.

Conduct reference checks and background checks.

Maintain records of recruiting activities as required.

Responsible for employee related compliance issues and processes.

Work with HR Organization Development team on various leadership, diversity & inclusion, and training opportunities for faculty and staff.
