This is a full-time, office position that requires answering phones, entering gifts into the Advancement Database, planning and execution of all Annual Fund activities, ensures regular donor stewardship/recognition, and provides general assistance for the Director of
Advancement & Annual Fund. A high level of confidentiality and ethical standards are required to function in this position successfully.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develops an Annual Fund communications plan within budget guidelines, in partnership with Director for Advancement and Alumni Relations.
Copy write and/or edit all Annual Fund materials.
Maintains "Give" section of College Website.
Assists with the maintenance of the Advancement database.
Maintains Advancement Office files.
Monitors Advancement Office’s balance sheet and facilitates/approves purchases and check requests for the department.
Creates and giving honor rolls.
Coordinates and supervises student workers assignments.
Records donations within 24 hours of receipt, and transmits donations to the Business Office.
Provides stewardship to donors, including timely acknowledgement letters for each gift.
Works with the Director for Advancement and Alumni Relations to develop data standards and reporting schedules for the Annual Report, life-time giving and donation records of the Board of Trustees.
Assists in special Advancement Office events, such as donor receptions and Alumni Reunion weekends, which require evening and/or weekend hours.
Assists in managing special campaigns such as the campaign for the Campus Commons.
Helps to manage the donor pipeline and prospect tracking.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
2 years’ experience in fundraising.
At least 2 years of general office and supervisory experience.
May consider an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
Database experience – Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.
CMS experience desirable.
Superior Microsoft Office experience (spreadsheets, graphs, word processing, presentations).
Self-motivated with a service orientation.
Mature judgment, political acumen and diplomacy in handling sensitive and/or confidential matters.
Results and detail focused.
Good communications skills.
Proven planning and organizing skills.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Ability to cope and adapt to changing priorities and stressful conditions.
