Admin Support III - Engineering Technology Department


Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:

The department of Engineering Technology invites applicants for the Administrative Assistant III position. This position provides clerical and administrative support to the Engineering Technology academic department. Additionally, the position provides support to the department's faculty, students, and academic advisors; performs and/or oversees a variety of associated administrative, fiscal, staff support, and planning activities, some of which require advanced or specialized knowledge and skills, such as budget administration, facilities scheduling, inventory control, specialized record keeping, and/or specified information-gathering and analysis projects and tasks.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited institution with an associates degree related to the Summary of Duties OR any combination of education and/or experience equating to a minimum total of 3 years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge in the preparation and interpretation of reports, charts, graphs, academic scheduling, and creating requisitions
  • Skilled in word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, and databases
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision making skills and exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
  • Ability to plan and anticipate potential changes
  • Ability to enact strategic changes affecting multiple stakeholders, including high-level university leadership
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information
  • Ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to meet and deal with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Banner (scheduling), CourseLeaf, 25Live, Wolverine Marketplace, Box, Concur, previous work in higher education.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to listen consistently. Consistent use of fine-hand manipulation associated with the use of a computer. Consistently sitting as with an office environment. Ability to lift 10 lbs.

Pay Range: $27,051 - $33,814
