Position Summary
The University at Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center (UBEOC) is seeking applications for a Supervisor of Enrollment Management. The UBEOC provides economically and educationally disadvantaged residents in the Western New York area tuition-free academic programs, workforce development training and certifications and gainful employment opportunities.

The incumbent will provide oversight of the Admissions Unit and integrate a strategic work plan that supports the UBEOC mission. The Enrollment Management Supervisor will provide visionary leadership in the development, implementation, and achievement of strategic recruitment, and outreach goals of the UBEOC. This position:

  • Provides oversight to UBEOC Admissions unit processes and services that support recruiting and admitting students into all programs provided by the UBEOC.
  • Is responsible for critical recruitment and marketing strategies, enrollment projections, goals, policies, procedures and guidelines for the Admissions Unit.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan, create recruitment and admission initiatives, implement a comprehensive marketing plan that benefits admission, advancement, and program promotion to ensure student access to and success at UBEOC. As well as, generate data and interpret statistical reports to analyze the effectiveness of efforts.
  • Works in close collaboration with colleagues in each of the functional areas of UBEOC and will be engaged with current students, faculty, administrators, and alumni in the recruitment, enrollment, and outreach in support of the mission of UBEOC.
  • Will become a member of the UBEOC Leadership team, participate as a member of the Strengthening Families committee, join any UBEOC Signature Event committee that is related to enrollment and recruitment, as well as organize and promote a minimum of three Open House per the calendar year.
  • Requires flexibility with the work schedule. Evening and weekend hours will be required on occasion. Some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Student Personnel or Education or a related field.

At least three (3) years of experience supervising staff.

Competency in the following areas:

  • Working with academically underprepared and/or economically disadvantaged adults.
  • In a role with related experience including, but not limited to: enrollment management, admissions, marketing, program promotion, strategic planning, budgeting and events/marketing campaign’s return on investment, recruitment, outreach, social media and/or emerging technology related recruitment/outreach.

Additional Attributes:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work, Student Personnel or Education or a related field.

Four (4) or more years of significant experience:

  • Supervising staff.

Competency in the following areas:

  • Working with academically underprepared and/or economically disadvantaged adults.
  • In a role with related experience including:
    o Successful experience in enrollment management including personnel responsibilities, strategic planning, and program promotion.
    o Experience with current best practices in enrollment management/admission processes.
    o Knowledge of and experience with the daily operations of the areas of enrollment management, and marketing.
    o Knowledge of and understanding of current and emerging technology related to recruitment and outreach.
    o Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    o Experience with collaborative enrollment strategies.
    o Experience with Unit Budget’s and strategies to calculate return on investment in marketing, outreach, activities/events.
    o Experience with using social media as a recruitment tool.
