Research Technician – Department of Neuroscience, School of Medicine – (21001427)


The Department of Neuroscience is a basic science research department performing cutting edge research within the School of Medicine. The primary purpose of the Neuroscience Department is to perform basic science research and to teach and train Medical and Graduate students/Post Docs through various courses, seminars, and labs. Faculty are actively engaged in basic and translational research that is funded by the National Institute of Health and other agencies. Additionally, faculty are responsible for teaching within the medical school and are also members of our graduate program which are designed to teach and train future scientists. The Dr. Philip Haydon laboratory studies how changes the contribution of glia to brain function and to disorders of the brain including Alzheimer’s disease.

Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols. The position’s role is to assist other scientists in preparing animals and samples for experiments as well as to genotype animals and to assist in data preparation and analysis.


Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in science with up to 1 year laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures.
