The Department of Public Health and Community Service (DPHCS) brings a commitment to socially responsible education, patient care, research, and community engagement. Its activities serve to model for future dentists, understanding of the interplay among individuals, caregivers, and healthcare provider groups. DPHCS offers extensive outreach programs, bringing prevention education and access to quality services to patients in need of dental care.

What You'll Do
The Patient Navigator provides case management to clients identified through TUSDM community initiatives (2Life, Boston Living Center, New England Center for Veterans, and Brighton Marines). This Patient Navigator is the point of contact for the partner organizations and clients. The Patient Navigator is committed to removing the client’s barriers to accessing dental care by working with team members to identify critical resources for the client and helping them to navigate through the TUSDM clinical system. The Patient Navigator works closely with Dr. Arsenault and Prof. Dolan to assist with administrative/managerial oversight of screening, scheduling, enrolling/assigning, and clinical care of outreach patients, and recruitment and management of dental students involved in providing dental care to clients identified through community outreach initiatives with 2Life Communities, the Boston Living Center, New England Center for Veterans, and Brighton Marines.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, And Certifications/Licenses
|
· Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
· Proficient in Excel and data entry
· Must be well organized with a keen attention to detail
· Must be able to multi-task and coordinate several projects simultaneously
|
Additional Preferred Experience, Education, etc.
|
· Bachelor's degree
· Background in Social Work
· Experience using an electronic health record system (AxiUm)
· Familiarity with basic dental terminology
|
