At the journey level you will perform the following tasks associated with electrical work.

  • Test electrical circuits to locate shorts, faulty connections and defective parts using test meters
  • Layout and install conduit, wiring, fixtures, motors, HVAC Control and other electrical systems
  • Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit breakers
  • Lead Maintenance Assistants and Helpers in work completion

Must be able to properly use equipment, material and tools in a safe and professional manner. Incumbents must have the ability to read diagrams, blueprints, motor and generator diagrams; You must also have working knowledge of and be proficient in the application of the National Electric Code.
