Coordinator of Student Involvement

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President, the Coordinator of Student Involvement (Professional Services Specialist IV) is directly responsible for student group recognition and provides advisement and professional support for the administrative, event planning, governance and fundraising operations of all of recognized student organizations at Kean to assist them in successfully achieving their goals. The Coordinator for Student Involvement also develops and implements a comprehensive student engagement plan with the goal of assisting Kean University students in taking advantage of the many opportunities for student involvement within the campus community, in alignment with institutional curricular and co-curricular learning outcomes. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and one year of professional experience in student leadership and development or a related field is required.  Master’s degree in student personnel, higher education administration or a related field is preferred. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational skills, knowledge of MS Office software programs and an aptitude for emerging electronic social media. Experience with Ellucian Datatel student records and financials, Intuit QuickBooks and Anthology (formerly Campus Labs – Baseline and Engage) is highly preferred. The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population is essential.
