Position Summary
The Campus Planning Office seeks a Facilities Information Resources Manager professional to oversee the creation of a new data collection and management group for University Facilities in pursuit of the University’s overall mission. The Office of Campus Planning is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of budget and capital facilities planning efforts for the campus consistent with the strategic aspirations of the University. The office integrates budgeting and facilities planning activities for the entire university. In this mid- to senior level role, ongoing responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide oversight and development for a new team within University Facilities (UFAC) which collects, analyzes and maintains data on the physical campus. This new group will unite the current data collections – Physical Space Inventory (PSI), UFAC documents library, and eventually add GIS (Geographic Information System) – to the unit.
- Apply expertise in architectural design/construction process and campus planning, to direct how UFAC’s information will be analyzed and leveraged to maximize university assets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to educate clients, align expertise with needs, partner with outside agencies, contribute to design, and lead an information collection team.
- In this role, the incumbent will work closely with UBIT, Institutional Analysis, Human Resources, the Registrar, Admissions, and other units within the university that collect data, to seek opportunities to maximize institutional assets.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop utilization tools, GIS and other data management initiatives.
- Work with a wide variety of stakeholders including departmental leadership, world class researchers, dedicated faculty, the State University Construction Fund, SUNY leadership, and the local municipalities surrounding UB’s three campuses.
- Mentor, guide and direct personnel as well as perform evaluation of staff to ensure proper resource allocation.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related degree with 3 years of experience in project management.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree.
- Excellent oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of staff at all levels of an organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field with 7 years of experience in campus planning and architectural programming.
- Demonstration of ability to generate architectural space programming studies, and architectural project work plans.
- New York State registration in architecture or engineering ideal.
