Overview

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) offers one of the most forward-looking educational environments in dental medicine in the country. Tufts Dental Facilities for Persons with Special Needs (TDF) is a network of seven outpatient clinics that provides dental care to approximately 7,000 developmentally disabled patients in the state of Massachusetts under the umbrella of TUSDM and in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Additional patient treatment is provided in the operating room setting at four affiliated hospitals within the state. The TDF program also provides a venue for teaching General Practice Residents through the Tufts GPR Program and 4th year dental students from TUSDM.


What You'll Do

This position requires occasional travel to the TDF clinics.

 

Acts as the primary administrative support for the seven Tufts Dental Facilities clinics under direct supervision of the Program Manager (PM) and general direction of the Director of Clinical Operations. Serves as department contact and resource for faculty, staff, site directors and patients. Provides direct support to the PM to meet deadlines related to financial data reports; runs reports, analyze and compile data from various software programs (dental and financial). Manages inspection schedules of commercial and state-owned properties while adhering to DPH clinic licensing standards and contractual agreements. Manages adherence to the University’s policies related to procurement and travel. Implements new processes/solutions to improve efficiency. Manages special assignments with minimal direction, completes tasks on time and to a high standard of quality.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED and 5+ years of administrative experience OR a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including word processing, editing and graphics functions, spreadsheet and database knowledge.
  • In addition, bookkeeping or basic accounting knowledge and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Individual must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a health care setting.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and be detailed oriented.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Have strong discretionary judgment, able to handle sensitive and confidential information.
