POSITION PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Admissions Coordinator for the Doctor of Optometry (OD) Program supports the program by working closely with the University Enrollment Management department to ensure matriculation of high-quality applicants. This position reports directly to the Dean of the Doctor of Optometry Program. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direction to university personnel to enable effective engagement and counseling of prospective Optometry applicants 
  • Provide administrative oversight for hosting program informational sessions to educate interested parties about the optometry profession and RMUoHP Doctor of Optometry program 
  • Work closely with Enrollment Management department personnel to fulfill all functions necessary for screening and scoring applications, interviewing candidates, extending offers, securing students, and ensuring prematriculation requirements are completed 
  • Answer program admission inquiries not adequately addressed through the Enrollment Management department 
  • Coordinate with the chair of the Admissions Committee and provide leadership in facilitating continuous self-assessment and improvement of admissions processes 
  • Work closely with the University webmaster and Doctor of Optometry program to ensure published website information is up-to-date and compliant with accreditation standards 
  • Provide administrative oversight for student records information related to admissions and pre-matriculation requirements 
  • Work with external constituencies as it pertains to admission workflow and coordination
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Hybrid (on and off campus)

Pay Range: Commensurate with experience in the range of $40,000 annually
