The UB Regional Institute (UBRI), a research and policy center at the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning, seeks an Associate Planner to provide support for outreach, communications, research and data analysis for a wide range of projects related to applied research, community engagement, urban planning, sustainability and resiliency.

They will work with UBRI staff to complete the following tasks:
  • Collect and analyze data and information in support of projects. Topic areas may include general planning, demographics, development, economic trends, housing, land use, and climate action.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of online and in-person public engagement programming and surveys
  • Organize and facilitate community and stakeholder meetings designed to meaningfully inform research and planning projects; synthesize feedback and notes from public engagement events such as focus groups, stakeholder meetings, and workshops
  • Write findings in reports, project websites, and other communication materials and prepare charts, graphs and maps for print and online media
