UAS Flight Maintenance & Inventory Manager – (190535)
The Daytona Beach Campus is currently accepting applications for the position of Flight Maintenance & Inventory Manager to support the Unmanned Aircraft Systems program in our College of Aviation.
The UAS Flight Maintenance & Inventory Manager will instruct students using the Penguin C sUAS platform as well as other UAS Department equipment to fulfill requirements of the University’s course catalog. They will also be responsible for the maintenance and sustainability of the equipment used in these events. Other duties will include upholding procedures and processes used by the department in the execution of these goals.
Provide instruction on UAS flight operations and sustainability
Maintain flight readiness of all UAS flight training program equipment in accordance with FAA and University requirements.
Track inventory locations, configurations and users in order to ensure proper use of equipment by the UAS faculty and staff.
Manage UAS flight resource availability
Assessing and projecting asset needs of the UAS flight program.
Develop a continuous improvement process for the department.
Maintain membership in UAS Operational Review Board
Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation or related field
FAA Certified Airframe and Powerplant, FAA Certified Remote Pilot, maintain currency in department unmanned aircraft
Manufacturer certification of UAS flight training for at least one UAV, Cloud Cap PCC experience preferred.
FAA Certified CFI/II or military equivalent preferred.
Operational experience flying MALE and/or sUAS required. Analytical skills with an in depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.
