Provide video production support on a variety of produced video productions and live events as needed that serve and market the Center for the Arts (UBCFA) and University at Buffalo (UB) academic department and entities that support communication, recruitment, fundraising, education and community outreach efforts within the UB brand. Perform video "Producer" duties on a wide range of productions, including but not limited to including features, promotional/image spots, presentations, performance, documentary, live/multi-camera event production for use in digital platforms and broadcast. This includes:

  • Develop UBCFA’s ability to advance its support of promoting the arts
  • Communicating with UBCFA administration, university partners and leadership to interpret, determine video requirements and facilitate their video needs
  • Creative concept development and research
  • Write message points, outlines and scripts
  • Create production schedules, conduct location scouts and coordinate logistics for video shoots
  • Seek, cast and coach video participants and talent
  • Supervise voice over sessions
  • Edit and/or supervise the edit process through final delivery
  • In collaboration with the Director of Photography schedule staff, student employees and procure hourly/freelance crew and resources
  • Be present during pre-production planning, technical rehearsals, shoot/event and load-out of assignments
  • Maintain positive relationships with University partners and address ongoing production needs
  • Travel for assignments as needed

Serve as the contact for produced video productions, actively seek and facilitate video production services activity and administration. This includes:

  • Market the UBCFA’s production groups work and gather a broader client base
  • Create production plans, budgets, facilitate production reports and invoicing for produced projects in a timely manner
  • Ensure that produced productions stay within budget and schedule met in a professional and cost-effective manner
  • Maintain overall department project schedule and coordinate resources with Director of Photography. This includes updating the overall produced project/delivery/status list and keeping an active "pipeline" of projects
  • Achieve annual video services revenue targets
