Overview
The Eliot-Pearson Children's School is a laboratory-demonstration school affiliated with the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. The Children's School enrolls approximately 68 children. It has preschool and Pre-K and Kindergarten to first grade classrooms. It serves as a model and demonstration school, providing a training and observation site for new and experienced teachers and opportunities for research projects.
What You'll Do
This is an academic year position with an option to add a 6-week summer program.
The Head Teacher’s responsibilities include providing a dynamic, developmental, inclusive program for preschool age children (3-4 years), curriculum planning, instruction, documentation and assessment of children, working with families, therapists, team-teaching and supervising University undergraduate and graduate students. The Head Teacher will work closely with the admin team to align with new COVID-19 new policies, regulations and programming.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience typically acquired by a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and 3 years’ experience with teaching children, including those with special needs
- Skilled in designing classroom environments and curriculum within an inclusive setting; experience supervising University students
