Instructional Designer – Tufts Support Services – (21001276)
The Support Services organization at Tufts University delivers administrative services to schools and central units across the university’s three campuses. Comprising administrative support for transactional tasks in human resources, finance, and information technology, along with professional services for budgeting and other functions, support services operate under a governance model that includes service level agreements. Tufts Support Services (TSS) is customer-focused and strives for continuous improvement and high customer satisfaction for faculty and staff constituents.
The Instructional Designer will be a crucial part of the Training, Communications, and Process Improvement team at TSS. The Instructional Designer, eLearning will be responsible for developing innovative online learning offerings for TSS internal and external constituents. These include self-paced courses (delivered via LMS) scripted, animated video tutorials; microlearning lessons; as well as quick start guides and other job aids/instructional materials. This role ensures that high-quality, innovative, timely, and effective learning solutions are delivered. Further, this position will be responsible for managing the TSS website, including assistance with initial design, updates, and routine maintenance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or similar OR equivalent work experience required
Must be able to understand complex information and communicate the information to people with diverse professional backgrounds.
Fluent in content authoring tools Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, and Snagit
Experience with learning and content management systems and platforms preferred
Working knowledge of and proven use of adult learning theory in training design
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with ability to successfully deliver and communicate complex technical training
Proven time management and organizational skills
Naturally motivated to take ownership, internal drive to seek change and improvement through creative problem solving
Proven experience in website management
Master’s Degree in Instructional Design or closely related field
