Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Medical Director (Director II) organizes, plans and directs ongoing support and advisement for the Physician Assistant (PA) Program. The Medical Director assists with program management; provides leadership and guidance to ensure that didactic instruction and supervised clinical experiences meet current practice standards as they relate to the Physician Assistant role in patient care; serves as an advocate for the PA Program within the medical and academic community; and does related work as required. This is a twelve-month, part-time (4 hours per week) position.
Qualifications: Physician (MD or DO) with an active New Jersey medical license; certification by an ABMS- or AOA- approved specialty board; and a minimum of two years of clinical experience is required. Five years of clinical experience; teaching experience in either the academic or clinical setting; experience working with physician assistants in a clinical environment; and knowledge of competency-based education and program assessment is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of physician assistant practice.
