Academic & Enrollment Services Specialist
$14.93 per hour or higher depending on experience
This position is responsible for providing efficient and effective registration services and information to students, staff, and faculty. Extensive knowledge of UI academic rules, regulations, and policies is required.
The Academic & Enrollment Services Specialist provides service to the academic community by interpreting and applying registration regulations, entering registration and curriculum requests into database, updating and maintaining accurate student records information, and processing transcript requests. This position works with other Registrar Office staff to ensure excellent service to the University community and by performing other duties as assigned. This position is a member of the Office of the Registrar team and works cooperatively with others to achieve University and Office of the Registrar goals.
This position reports to the Student Records/Systems Coordinator.
High School diploma or GED
Experience with general office policies and procedures.
Experience using personal computers and proficiency with common computer applications such as Microsoft Word for Windows, spreadsheet software, electronic mail, and web-based research
Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying complex regulations such as FERPA and academic regulations
Experience providing a high level of customer service to a diverse group of constituents
Some college or Bachelors degree
Experience in Registrars Office; Higher education
Experience with Banner
Experience with imaging software
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures
Demonstrated experience handling confidential information
Ability to work with diverse groups of people (KEEP)
Ability to handle difficult interpersonal situations with tact and diplomacy
Ability to systematically research a variety of sources to collect requested information
Ability to provide accurate and timely information and handle complex problems courteously and efficiently
Ability to work in a repetitive, detail-oriented environment
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
