Reporting to the Director of Residential Operations and Facilities, the Managing Assistant Director (Managing Assistant Director III) for Residential Operations and Retention focuses on the retention and academic success of residential students and manages programmatic initiatives geared toward the academic and emotional support of first generation college students, students requiring academic accommodations and diversity, including Living Learning Communities and the First Year Experience. The Managing Assistant Director will serve as the departmental representative for recruitment and retention efforts and collaborate with other faculty and staff throughout the university. Primary duties include providing guidance and managing the implementation of the following processes: assessment; analyzing housing data collection; overseeing housing assignment management systems; generating reports; updating student information in the university database; maintaining effective systems for document retention, removal and maintenance for all student records; and performing other related duties.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and two years of professional experience supervising residence life programs in higher education is required. Master’s degree in Social Work, Student Personnel Services, Student Development, Education or a related field and four years of professional experience in residence hall management, leadership training, student and community development and administrative processes is preferred. Experience and proficiency in learning communities and special interest housing is also preferred. Candidate must possess strong organizational skills and show a demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively in a culturally diverse community. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
