The Smith Laboratory in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Buffalo has an opening for a Medical Laboratory Technician II to serve as a laboratory manager. We are looking for candidates with a strong microbiology background to join an infectious diseases research group focusing on defining optimal therapeutic regimens to combat resistant bacteria. Evidence indicating research experience, leadership, and scientific design is required. Excellent sterile technique and sound laboratory practices is required. The candidate will be self-motivated, an independent worker, enthusiastic, hardworking, and enjoy working in a fast, high throughput laboratory. We are committed to the development of our team members through training, opportunities for authorship at international conferences and highly impactful journals, and other research opportunities.
Job duties include:
- Independent design and experimentation of microbiologic experiments
- Microbiologic Analysis.
- Performing broth microdilution MICs and plate-reading experiments
- In Vitro Model Experiments of Bacterial Infection.
