General Statement of Job
To serve as the lead marketing writer providing promotional communications to engage a variety of audiences in support of the college’s ongoing enrollment and targeted marketing campaigns.
Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leverages research and insights to conceptualize and write compelling copy for all types of media including web/digital, print, radio, and social.
Works in collaboration with designers, photographers, and other team members throughout the creative process to produce effective multicultural copy for print promotions including viewbooks, brochures, posters, and handbills.
Provides SEO writing, copy-editing, and content structure for promotional webpages.
Maintains, assesses, and updates copy for Google AdWords and SEO uses.
Creates, monitors, and optimizes the college’s email marketing automation and lead-generation campaigns.
Collaborates with others to maintain editorial style guide to ensure a cohesive brand voice throughout all channels.
Tracks emerging trends, communities, and platforms and recommends engagement where relevant for college.
KnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Solid understanding of marketing and advertising principles.
Ability to understand the needs, motivations, and aspirations relevant to ACC’s multicultural audiences.
Advanced copywriting and editing knowledge, including expertise in adapting messages for diverse audiences and goals.
Understanding of SEO principles including keyword research, and content development and evaluation.
Familiarity with email marketing strategies and tools.
Mastery of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
SkillsMust possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Maintain an established work schedule which may include occasional evenings and weekends.
Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling content.
Ability to produce multiple options fast, under pressure, and within specifications (i.e., word count, target audience, voice, style, etc.).
Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
Use a variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, and presentation software.
Required Work Experience
One year of related work experience, which may include paid or unpaid internships.
Preferred Work Experience
One or more years of related work experience with content marketing tools, platforms, and automation.
Other Preferred Qualifications
Experience with InDesign and WordPress.
Experience with web analytics tools (i.e., Google Analytics, etc.).
Familiarity with marketing platforms and best practices.
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prodent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
ACC Benefits Overview
Full-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.
ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
