The primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate the smooth progress of undergraduate students in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction through academic program from admission to matriculation. This includes an undergraduate program leading to a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an identified additional endorsement pathway.
Duties and Responsibilities (generally)
The qualified candidate provides developmental academic advising to prospective and current undergraduate candidates regarding teacher education programs. The Elementary Education program, under the C & I department, is an elementary Illinois licensure program with a specified endorsement pathway embedded in the degree. The qualified candidate also participates in recruitment activities, data collection for licensure reports, and in program development activities
Minimum Required Qualifications for this position
Bachelor’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Elementary Education, Middle Level Teaching & Learning or related field AND 4 years of academic advising related experience in higher education
Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Elementary Education, Middle Level Teaching & Learning or related field AND 3 years of academic advising related experience in higher education, leadership, student personnel, academic advising in an elementary/secondary educational environment
