Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently hiring for an Assistant or Associate Campaign Director. The Assistant/Associate Campaign Director is responsible for directing and implementing many elements of a fundraising campaign, including the oversight of necessary systems and practices that will support this initiative, the monitoring of fundraising progress, and ensuring there is an integration and collaboration between campaign and annual fundraising programs.

The Assistant/Associate Director must be a proactive, creative and tenacious problem-solver; unfailingly positive, engaging and gracious; nurturing of professional and client relationships and a careful listener with high emotional intelligence; professional, poised and polished; discrete with confidential material; an exceptional communicator and brand ambassador; and a service-oriented member of the team. Frequent travel and weekend and evening work is required.

Key responsibilities include:
Developing a pool of donors with the capacity and interest to give $10,000 or more
Soliciting and stewarding sponsorships from secondary corporations
Managing / coordinating the efforts of high-net-worth and VIP volunteers
Conducting peer screenings, directing campaign activities and events, organizing campaign gift celebrations, drafting campaign proposals and documents
Conducting research on prospects participating in campaign activities
Ensuring all corporation philanthropic partners are appropriately recognized under campus corporate donor recognition signage


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience in fundraising. Experience with marketing communications, special events, and direct engagement of high-net- worth donor prospects, ideally in a Higher Education philanthropy setting is strongly preferred. Previous campaign management experience a plus.


Proper business correspondence
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Basic understanding of HTML and web editor’s tools
Proficiency with event planning software; Attend

Use of the internet as a productivity or research tool

Development and alumni relations best practices
Basic understanding of research


Effectively use and communicate through social media techniques and platforms
Apply mobile device technology for productivity, communication, and social media

Comprehend, analyze, and synthesize prospect reports, maps, tables, graphs, & other technical information


Ability to master the use of iModules and other tools for social media and its analysis
Ability to ask identify and personally ask alumni for opportunities to become engaged
Ability to work in a team environment
Energetic and self-motivated, well-prepared, with routinely robust follow through
Demonstrate strong character, emphasizing integrity, caring, honesty, as well as loyalty to the institution
Develop proficiency with University’s fundraising database/software
Maintain positive and respectful engagement with colleagues and clients
Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Adaptable and resilient when confronted with challenges and changing priorities
Manage and meet deadlines
Adhere to divisional and university policies and procedures
Compile expense reports
Plan and appropriately execute social engagement activities
Read and generate prospect reports, maps, and other technical information associated with giving and engagement

Manage sensitive and confidential information
Demonstrate an authentic and enthusiastic interest in the mission of the university
Lift overhead and carry 25 pounds
Optimize travel planning and execution
Be able and willing to travel short and long distances by automobile, train, or aircraft
Require to have current driver’s license
Work frequently on evenings and weekends
