Position Summary
Project Staff Assistant will coordinate New York State Area Health Education Center (AHEC) System health workforce development projects via programmatic outreach, advocacy, and grant support.
Specifically, this role will:
Coordinate all the activities for participant engagement on targeted grants as assigned, and work closely with the leadership team to support brand awareness and advocacy efforts through various social media platforms to bolster long-term sustainability.
Actively promote educational training opportunities throughout the program catchment areas in NYS. Further, support the mission of the NYS AHEC System by working with the leadership team to expand community partnerships to align like-minded organizational goals for continued collaborations within the network.
Develop and maintain the Alumni Network for the NYS AHEC System for active participant engagement to support overall programmatic goals and objectives, to support continued funding sustainability and growth.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Education, Communications or Marketing degree, Public Health or related field; in conjunction with 2 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge and understanding of communication platforms including digital media and social media tools; experience in developing online content across multiple platforms including blogs, web sites, and social media preferred.
Ability to work with a diverse constituency including academic students and faculty, centers and regional offices, community partners, funders and government officials.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking, public relations and ability to facilitate informational sessions.
