Under the direction of the Associate Director of Human Resources, the Managing Administrative Assistant is responsible for administering, coordinating and performing the routine professional functions necessary for the Office of Human Resources. This position processes incoming Open Public Records Act (OPRA) requests and Government Records Council (GRC) inquiries; oversees the processing of minor discipline cases; manages human resources communications; participates in the formulation of managerial policies and procedures; and performs related duties as required for the Employee Relations Unit.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in Human Resources or a related position working with records management is required. Experience working in a university environment and with public records management is preferred. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. Applicants who possess an Associate’s degree may substitute two (2) years of position-related experience for the remaining two (2) years of education. A Master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience. Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HRIS is essential.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month Working Test Period to become eligible for a regular appointment.
