The Tufts University Advancement division (UA) is a comprehensive development and alumni relations enterprise with a staff complement of approximately 170 FTE. Functional units within UA include development/fundraising, alumni relations, stewardship and donor relations, advancement communications, special events, gift processing, research, prospect management, gift planning, corporate and foundation relations, information systems and management, and infrastructure services. UA's mission is to build strong, lifelong relationships with Tufts University's constituents, match donors' interests with the university's needs and priorities, and secure the financial resources necessary for Tufts to achieve excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship. The division is committed to serving the academic agenda of the university, creating a culture of philanthropy in the extended Tufts community, and pursuing excellence and best practices in its work. What You'll Do

Manages and ensures the success of the annual SMFA Art Sale SMFA Art Sale , which raises approximately $450,000 to support the SMFA. In addition to raising funds to support the school, the Art Sale engages between 300-500 artists, who are faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of the SMFA, and provides exposure for the SMFA at Tufts by drawing between 500 - 1,000 potential buyers from the Tufts community and the local Boston community to the SMFA.



What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of related or transferable experience.
  • Advanced interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in retail sales and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of contemporary art and familiarity with the art community.
  • Fluency in managing websites and using social media as a sales outlet desired.
