Grants and Contracts Specialist

Pay Range: $19.09 per hour or more depending on education and experience

Position Summary:

Functioning as part of college fiscal operations this position will analyze proposals, grants, and contracts post award; answer questions regarding compliance and allowable expenditures; approve or disapprove fiscal transactions including EPAFS related to students, temp or other staff hired; apply detailed knowledge of regulations and Regents' policies in regard to facilitating and coordinating sponsored programs for the College of Natural Resources. They will also perform a variety of budget and personnel functions to support the College of Natural Resources including maintaining financial and personnel records for assorted budgets. This position will also function as part of a team providing financial services to the College of Natural Resources community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in related field (accounting, finance, administration) or minimum of 3-years related work experience in grant administration.
Experience with interpreting and applying laws and regulations in particular as they apply to higher education; and developing, organizing, and implementing administrative projects and procedures.
Experience in preparation of financial and administrative reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years experience in grant management of pre-award and/or post-award areas of expertise.
Knowledge of university level proposal submission process.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Experience with the University of Idaho internal/external online submission systems.
Knowledge of UI policies and procedures in particularly as they apply to grants and contracts administration.
Experience of BANNER and ARGOS
