The Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life prepares Tufts students to become active citizens and community leaders. As the only university-wide college of its kind, its mission is to engage Tufts students in meaningful community building, public service experiences, and transformational learning. It conducts groundbreaking research on young people’s civic and political participation and forges innovative community partnerships. Tisch College is a national leader in civic education, whose model and research are setting the standard for higher education’s role in civic engagement.
The Communications Specialist will be part of a dynamic and collaborative communications and events team. This position provides broad communications support, including via print, digital platforms and social media, for the College’s programs, courses, research centers and Dean’s Office.
Key duties include:
Collaborate with the Director of Communications and the Communications and Events Manager to promote Tisch College programs, courses, and research, including via digital and print formats, to internal and external audiences.
Lead Tisch College’s web site presence.
Draft remarks, speeches, and slide presentations for senior leaders of the College.
Draft monthly e-newsletters and maintain e-lists.
In collaboration with the events coordinator, develop social media strategy and content.
Promote and assist with Tisch College events.
Support some media outreach efforts.
