Overview

The Department of Pediatric Dentistry is a fast-paced dental clinic which provides top quality patient care to children up to the ages of 18. Faculty and staff work together as a team to provide a maximum educational experience for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.


What You'll Do

  • Coordinating the organization and management of student applications to the post-doctoral residency program. Handling many administrative elements of the student recruitment and acceptance process in conjunction with program director, department, and school, including typing memoranda and letters, photocopying, responding to inquiries from prospective students, sending interview invitations, coordinating interview days with prospective students and faculty/residents, organizing new resident orientation. Serving as program contact and resource to answer questions or requests for information and communicating on behalf of the program director.  Applying, explaining and implementing policies and procedures that require knowledge of the residency program, department and university policies.

 

  • Providing comprehensive residency program support including: maintaining the program calendar, coordination of resident rotations, preparing credentialing and licensing applications, handling intra-departmental class scheduling with lecturers and blocking resident schedules in axiUm, resident on-call scheduling, facilitating with resident evaluations, faculty evaluations, and arranging program related meetings. Participating in the preparation of program-related reports, meeting minutes, reports on residents’ advocacy activities, alumni surveys, manuscripts and presentations. 

 

  • Providing other program support by coordinating departmental research administration, ordering research project materials and supplies, booking travel, and documenting all resident expenditures.

 

  • Other program-related activities as needed.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  1. Years of related experience required:  1-3
  2. Required education: Bachelor’s Degree
  3. Special licenses required:  None
  4. Required computer/technical skills:  General computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent computer skills.  Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, communications and time management skills.  Ability to exercise discretion and interact effectively with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.  The ability to maintain a professional outlook and handle multiple projects simultaneously is important. 

 

We are looking for a team player who is willing to participate in a fast paced and changing environment. Of particular interest: prior experience in an academic medical/dental setting as well as familiarity with working in a healthcare environment.
