Primary Purpose of Position
The Cleanroom Manager will manage the overall operations of the cleanroom, including serving as the central person for cleanroom user assistance and training, process verification and statistical validation, perform remote jobs and calibration and maintenance of equipment and support systems. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic JSNN technical staff team of scientists and engineers with diverse expertise in material synthesis, fabrication, microscopy, soft matter and analytical instrumentation.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
JSNN is a college-level unit focused on nanoscience and nanoengineering research. The facility is accessible to internal and external researchers. JSNN houses a core, shared user facility that is open to all researchers (both internal and external users). This position will be housed in the one of the core labs at JSNN, namely the Micro and Nanofabrication (Cleanroom) lab. It also has access to a facility that researchers can access on a service-fee basis.
- Master’s degree in engineering or physical sciences or related field with three years of cleanroom, cleanroom equipment, and fabrication process experience in semiconductor industry or in University/National Lab. Consideration will be given to a highly experienced applicants with a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a physical sciences or related field with at least five years of cleanroom, cleanroom equipment, and fabrication process experience in semiconductor industry or at a University/National Lab.
- Must be able to work independently and if required, work in a multidisciplinary environment involving complex processing equipment with scientists and engineers.
- Excellent verbal, communication and writing skills; ability to interact with multiple levels of customers, both internal and external to North Carolina A&T State University.
- Knowledge of safety and health issues concerning cleanroom equipment, operations, and hazardous materials handling and disposal
