JOB SUMMARY

This position directs and manages the work of assessment and reporting for the School of Education (SoED). Position administers assessment software system, Tk20, providing direction, support, and ensuring system is optimized for all end users. Is responsible for the overall assessment practice as it relates to initial teacher licensure and program accreditation. The assessment manager plays a key role in the school-wide assessment for the purpose of University Program Review, accrediting bodies, and State program approval.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assessment, Accreditation, and Data Management

Oversee, draft, and implement activities and processes as outlined in the School of Education Assessment Handbook, providing guidelines for data collection and the monitoring of professional standards and program requirements to ensure alignment with HLC regulations and the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) rules
Draft compliance reports in conjunction with faculty and staff
Compile assessment data reports for departments each semester
Lead biannual data meeting for departments and the Dean’s Office
Oversee comprehensive assessment strategy for the college
Data Collection/Archival and Reporting

Collect, aggregate, summarize and present candidate and program assessment data for use in program review and development/continuous improvement
Build and maintain current archival of all department assessment data and materials
Serve as primary liaison with Office of Institutional Effectiveness
edTPA

Collect and organize materials for Minnesota’s mandated Teacher Performance Assessment – edTPA each semester
Participate in edTPA planning meetings and monitor training
Provide annual comparisons of edTPA data to departments and the Dean’s Office
Tk20 Unit Administration

Manage and oversee assessment system, Tk20, for the college, which includes preparation of training materials, configuration of tools/ reports, supervising student workers, and chairing the Tk20 users group
Ensure data collection and archiving is in accordance with accreditation and assessment best practices

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
Five years of program administration or office management experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional experience working in higher education including information, data, and document management systems support
Master’s degree along with strong data analysis, program assessment skills and familiarity of the Minnesota Professional Educator and Licensing Standards Board unit rules and standards
Knowledge of policies and procedures of the college and departments, graduate education programs, standards-based arena for teachers and P-12 learners, P-12 and Teacher Education curriculum
Knowledge and experience with MS Windows platforms, Banner, Blackboard, SharePoint, TK20 and other assessment software
Experience instructing others in software use
Knowledge of digital portfolios; business arithmetic; applicable regulations, policies and statutes
