Job Description


The Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of development strategies. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, the Development Coordinator will work as a member of the Major Gifts team and will interact regularly with other staff in the division, and from time to time, the President’s Office, and other offices across campus.

The Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of development strategies. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, the Development Coordinator will work as a member of the Major Gifts team and will interact regularly with other staff in the division, and from time to time, the President’s Office, and other offices across campus.

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree.  
  • Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Highly well-organized and adept at multi-tasking.  
  • Expert at using office technology and in drafting and refining presentations.
  • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or the equivalent a plus.
  • A collaborative working style and ability to work well as a member of a team are essential. Ability to work nights and weekends.  
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. The candidate must be self-motivated, customer-friendly, results-oriented, flexible, and dedicated to excellence.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Work experience highly preferred.  
  • Experience in a higher education administrative environment desirable.
  • Knowledge of development a plus.
  • Professionally oriented and motivated to establish a record of accomplishment and enhance her/his skill set.
  • Committed to representing Stevens in a manner that will promote goodwill and a positive image of the university.  
  • Committed to becoming highly knowledgeable about Stevens’ mission, profile, and goals.  
  • Desire to advance in the field of development a plus.

 
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:  

  • Assist with Data Entry and reporting for the major gifts team, including tracking donors and prospective donors and ensure that research and contact reports are up to date
  • Organize and make available materials for gift proposals 
  • Provide support with processes and procedures related to the Gift Acceptance Review committee (GARC). 
  • Provide support in implementing the pledge reminder process for major donors
  • Support stewardship steps and activities for major donors
  • Liaise with the Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement team to foster the highest level of collaboration
  • Assist with development event preparation and execution as needed, including prospect and meeting briefings.
  • Manage follow-up, action items, and correspondence for meetings, visits, and events to ensure all action items are assigned and completed. 
  • Support correspondence and sharing materials between development and the Office of the President
  • Manage communication, correspondence, and sharing materials with various dean’s and campus leadership’s office
  • Support the planning and execution of work for development leaders on university committees, travel, external appointments, and meetings
  •  Administrative duties as assigned
