POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Work Location:  Louisiana State University Agricultural Center, Dean Lee Research and Extension Center, Alexandria Louisiana – State Evacuation Shelter

Position Description:  The successful candidate will be responsible for operations and management of the State Evacuation Shelter and the Dewitt Livestock Facility.  The incumbent will report directly to the Manager of the State Evacuation Shelter and the Assistant Regional Director in the Central Region.  This position will work with and through the shelter manager to facilitate facility repairs and maintenance and network with clientele groups and community partners as needed. This position will work with the shelter manager and government and state agencies to ensure that the shelter is operational when activated for an emergency.  The individual will maintain records associated with facility and equipment maintenance and oversee the safety program for the facility.  Responsibilities include, monitoring and maintenance of facilities after hours on weekends, as needed.

Qualification Requirements:  A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.  Experience and knowledge with industrial and/or mechanical and HVAC equipment is preferred.  Experience with electrical and plumbing systems is preferred.  The ability to communicate effectively and work professionally with partner agencies, clientele groups and the public is required.

Salary and Benefits:  Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
