Job Description Summary

*The Director of Student Accounts Systems and Reporting *will serve as the principal administrator for systems, data management, and reporting for the Office of Student Accounts. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies while maintaining Student Accounts records with accuracy and best practices in mind. This position works to support the overall goals and mission of the Office of Student Accounts and Stevens Institute of Technology which ensures student centricity and excellence in all we do.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to be fulfilled:

Overview:

  • Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Student Accounts and Auxiliary Services and in partnership with the Director of Student Accounts, support the comprehensive daily operations of the Office of Student Accounts through technology, reporting, and training.
  • Serve as the department subject matter expert on Workday and all third-party applications providing leadership in the development of a strategic approach to the adoption, implementation, maintenance and testing of new technologies, functionality, and updates for all systems utilized by the Office Student Accounts.
  • Responsible for building customized solutions that support business requirements and drive key business decisions.
  • Assist the Executive Director as needed to develop complex custom reports, dashboards, and processes to monitor data quality.
  • Support Workday feature release updates and enhancements and coordinate cross functional team testing including integration and application development, deployment, testing, and iterative refinement.
  • Regularly perform audits and reviews of Student Accounts systems and third-party integrations to address error reports, ensure data integrity and make optimizations where possible.
  • Collaborate with appropriate University departments to communicate and resolve matters related to Student Accounts’ data, systems, and integrations.
  • Provide reporting and integration subject matter expertise, including data source and object knowledge and complex calculated field creation.
  • Become a Workday Reporting expert with deep knowledge of current functionality, design concepts, touch points within Student and eventually Financials, Prism, BIRT, dashboards, embedded analytics, and future report specific functionality.
  • Administer Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs) for Workday Student.
  • Oversee Student Accounts’ Workday report inventory and integrations.
  • Work with functional staff to update documentation, and coordinate training initiatives to ensure staff is optimally using all systems.
  • Understand the billing delivers for all programs including traditional, corporate, and other programs to ensure accurate system configuration, testing and reporting.
  • Document system usage, configuration decisions, access management and reporting set up.
  • Support processing of annual A-133 Audit as required
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of direct reports, providing opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Evening and occasional weekend hours as required
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Accounts and Auxiliary Services.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the field of information systems, information science, computer science, or software engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards with business intelligence products (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Experience in Python and SQL, preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Workday Student, preferred
  • Strong understanding of data structures, database design, relational and dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data from a variety of sources.
  • Possess a continuous improvement mind-set – Ability to challenge the status quo, conduct root cause analysis.    
  • Previous experience in Student Accounts, Financial Aid or other administrative offices in a higher education environment, preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle numerous tasks, assign priorities, and handle confidential information
  • Experience working with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements.
  • Experience writing and maintaining systems and end user documentation.
