This is a position in Sponsored Projects Services within the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development which manages and supports the research infrastructure, provides stewardship of external funding and is dedicated to providing the best support possible for University researchers. The Agreement Administrator is responsible for performing diversified and complex administrative functions for various Pre-Award and non-financial Post-Award activities of sponsored awards, and oversees compliance with awarding agency terms and conditions and conformance to various policies and regulations.
The Agreement Administrator reviews and negotiates contracts. He/she is responsible for overseeing a departmental portfolio and serves as the primary point of contact for proposal submissions. In addition, this position provides research administration support to faculty and staff by negotiating, interpreting and applying award terms and conditions, processing awards, and seeking sponsor approval when required. As the point of contact, the Agreement Administrator works collaboratively with faculty and staff to provide information regarding policies and procedures and sees resolutions to problems.
Bachelor’s degree in field that requires formal writing and analytical skills.
Work experience in contract negotiation and/or research support.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have the maturity and self confidence to relate to faculty as colleagues and possess a business-like demeanor to represent the RF-SUNY in contract negotiations and administration of sponsored activities.
Demonstrated experience in preparing and negotiating agreements with governmental agencies and/or private entities.
Advanced degree in science, law or business
Experience in a Higher Education setting.
Demonstrated familiarity with federal, state and sponsor level requirements for sponsored awards.
Certification in Research Administration
