The University at Buffalo Police Department is seeking a Staff Assistant that would be responsible for the management of various electronic records and administrative tasks.

In this position, you would perform a variety of administrative duties to include:

    • Provides administrative support to the Criminal Investigation Division
    • Compiles requested documentation pertaining to FOIL requests
    • Assists accreditation managers with required reports and activities in PowerDMS
    • Electronic information management including the interpretation, compiling and archiving of sensitive law enforcement data
    • Maintains and updates electronic copies of department manuals and general orders
    • Manages the master name directory in CHARMS
    • Reviews department schedule daily to confirm staffing minimums are met
    • Coordinates shift bids as necessary
    • Assists with answering the non-emergency phone line and handling necessary requests
    • Provides support for University Police Lost & Found

  • Associates degree and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 
  • Experience with University at Buffalo policies, procedures and administrative business systems
  • Basic understanding of FOIL requests and Discovery Requirements.
