School of General Studies
Course Placement and Testing Coordinator
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of the School of General Studies or their designee, the Course Placement and Testing Coordinator (Professional Services Specialist 4) is responsible for coordinating course placement and testing; engaging in student support activities related to course placement and testing; collaborating with campus partners to communicate course placement and testing guidelines, processes and procedures; maintaining databases and websites related to testing and course placement materials and activities; supervising and training part-time staff; and performing related work as required. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Some travel may be required.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience at an institution of higher education administering testing and/or determining course placements is required. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Candidate must have experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, database management and experience with Accuplacer and the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Preferred qualifications include: three or more years of professional experience at a four-year undergraduate institution in advising and/or course placement and testing; student support experience; demonstrated engagement in the theory and practice of testing and course placement in higher education; experience working with confidential records; and knowledge of Ellucian software. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
