The Next Generation Air Transportation System, or NextGen, is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) initiative to modernize the nation’s antiquated air traffic control systems to make air travel safer, more efficient, and more economical. The FAA has contracted Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to operate the facility. NextGen integrates existing technologies, policies, and procedures with newly developed ones to achieve the goals of reducing delays, saving fuel, and lowering aircraft exhaust emissions.Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Program Administration and Operations Support person to support the Florida NextGen Program and related NextGen tasks in the daily operations and management. This position coordinates the schedules and program activities for NextGen and is responsible for essential functions, including creating and reviewing reports, providing various analyses, assisting Project Managers, and supporting Executive level decision making.
The Program Administration and Operations Support is responsible for all planning and logistical concerns regarding all events and activities at the Florida NextGen Test Bed. This position works closely with NextGen Business Administrator and Office of Sponsored Programs to support budget reporting, invoicing and reconciliation responsibilities for all NextGen tasks.Responsibilities include the following:Analyzing monthly program budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls and direct preparation of regular and special budget reports.Planning, purchasing and logistical concerns for all NextGen Program events, visits, tours, etc.Providing advice and technical assistance with purchasing, scheduling, cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation. Consulting with Project Managers to ensure budget transactions, invoicing and adjustments are performed in a timely fashion and in accordance with NextGen Program terms and conditions.
