Position Summary
The University at Buffalo, a top 40 public research university and the State University of NY’s flagship university, is searching for an Application Development Analyst in Enterprise Application Services. This position is a software developer role working with cutting edge technology in the enterprise applications unit of one of the largest and most progressive IT organizations in Western NY.
As the Application Development Analyst, you will …
Design, develop, test, maintain and document application software for UB’s enterprise systems
- Analyze and/or assist in development of customer specifications
- Understand and utilize contemporary web development tools and techniques
- Elicit customer requirements and develop solutions using new and/or existing technology/application systems in the process
- Stay abreast of new technology and look for opportunities to improve enterprise IT services

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in the Information Systems field (includes internships and relevant projects) or master’s degree or professional certification with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated competency with at least one of the following languages: Angular, Java, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, C, C++, SQL or PeopleCode
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in a technical field
- Understanding and experience with contemporary web development tools and techniques
- Familiarity with contemporary application development tools and concepts such as automated testing, DevOps toolchains, containerization and Agile development practices
