The Department of Student Accounts located on UB’s North Campus, seeks to hire a Staff Assistant (Cashiering and Collections Coordinator) to handle various reporting duties. In this role you will be responsible for the following:
Oversee cashiering process to include
Analyze and create the student invoices
Work directly with Nelnet on establishing payment plans for our students
Responsible for posting of Financial Aid and other charges
Create and run data queries to provide up-to-date tuition information to Sr. Leadership
Implement Attorney General EMAR data transfer semi-annually. Look for and suggest improvements that can be gained through automation
Establish relationship with outside entities (i.e. bank and Attorney General’s office)
Develop a placement process with the Student Loan Service Center for collection of accounts under $500
Create data queries for ad-hoc reporting
Analyze and share data within the student information system
Serve as an escalation point for customer complaints via phone and email correspondence
Provide outstanding customer service and address a wide range of problems relating to student billing

Associates Degree with 2 years of experience or a combination of education and experience.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft office software, particularly Excel and Word applications.
Experience with PeopleSoft Student Financial module preferred.
Ability to create and run PeopleSoft queries and/or InfoSource queries desired.
Ability to work in an environment controlled by federal, state, and/or institutional guidelines.
