University Policy and Compliance Coordinator
Provost/Exec VP Area
$63,564.80 annually or higher depending on education and experience
The Policy and Compliance Coordinator is a joint position reporting 51% to the Provost and Executive Vice President and 49% to General Counsel. The Coordinator has primary responsibility to develop, draft, review, and oversee the approval process, and maintain records for policy changes and policy implementation. In addition the Coordinator is responsible to coordinate compliance tracking and coordination across the organization, working collaboratively with compliance officers and others responsible for compliance in the various vice presidential divisions of the University. The Coordinator must: 1) be able to work effectively across the organization with multiple constituencies to ensure continuity in policy modification/implementation and coordination/tracking of compliance efforts; 2) be able to provide background and history on various UI policies; 3) act as a resource for interpretation of policies and processes; and 4) ensure appropriate communication of policy changes and policy implementation across the organization and appropriate communication of compliance issues to University administration.
JD or undergraduate degree with three years experience drafting legal documents such as regulations, legislation, and institutional policies.
Experience drafting policy or representing governmental agencies or higher education institutions and/or other experience that is demonstrated as relevant to the job responsibilities defined in the position description.
Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated experience with laws and regulations relevant to higher education.
Demonstrated experience drafting legal documents such as regulations, legislation, and institutional policies.
Demonstrated experience in higher education compliance in a research university or a governmental equivalent.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience working and collaborating with teams.
Demonstrated skill in organizing information, tracking workflows, and retaining documents for historical recall.
