What You'll Do

The postgraduate operations team supports the clinical and education efforts within the postgraduate departments across the School. The postgraduate operations staff provides courteous, professional and effective support services and are committed to providing patients, residents and faculty with information, guidance, and quality service to contribute to a successful dental clinic experience. This includes maintaining a safe environment, assuring that patients' dental needs are addressed in a caring, confidential, timely and thorough manner that patients are informed about their treatment and clinic procedures, and those patients' finances are handled accurately and efficiently.

This position is responsible for managing a team of patient registration coordinator(s) and dental assistant(s), who oversee the patient registration, scheduling and clinical operation of the TUSDM faculty practice. The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing operational procedures for the faculty practice. The individual will supervise the team to conduct ongoing analysis of the faculty practice clinics to ensure that these areas are entering the treatment and services in a timely manner and accurately posting charges for billing. The individual and the team will be responsible for assisting the billing team with monitoring accounts receivable and analyzing aged patient accounts in a timely manner. The individual will be responsible for staying current on all dental/medical billing regulations and compliance guidelines. Individual will be accountable to make the necessary changes to ensure the School's practices are always in compliance. The individual will have significant interaction with patients, residents, faculty and staff to ensure that procedures and treatments are entered correctly and to establish suitable financial arrangements consisting of self-pay, budget plans and/or insurance coverage. The individual will provide ongoing support and training (insurance, software, policy) to the staff and faculty. This position communicates with department chairs, division heads, department admins/administrators, finance department, billing team and peer practice managers to enhance patient's satisfaction, overall productivity, operational efficiencies and point of service revenue collections of the specialty clinics.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • BA/BS and 3+ years related experience.
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent, i.e. GED. Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including word processing, editing and graphics functions, spreadsheet and database knowledge.
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to patient satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a health care setting.
