The MBA Career Management Group (CMG) serves the entire MBA student population (approximately 1,400 students) and thousands of Haas alumni. The CMG has two roles: 1) To prepare students for their job searches by offering workshops, advising, and training programs; and 2) To solicit and support employers for on-campus and off-campus recruiting of our students and to increase the quality and quantity of relationships recruiters have with Berkeley Haas.

Responsibilities

Consults with end-users to identify data and reporting needs. Creates queries in MS Power BI and generates reports, using data pulled from different databases
  • Develops, prepares, and tests reports that will be used to track student outcomes and employment trends against key variables by CMG staff and Haas Marketing Dept.
  • Coordinates with multiple stakeholders including CMG, Marketing, Academic Programs, and Admissions to understand data availability and generate analyses that support data-driven decisions for programming, prospective student recruiting, rankings data submissions, and resource allocation
  • Assists in identifying and resolving data and system errors and discrepancies that occur between the different data repositories at Haas and on the UC Berkeley campus.


Performs comprehensive data analysis for annual data reporting cycle, and assists in the development of annual reports that are used for student, staff, employer, and prospect marketing and education.
  • Creates user training guidelines and custom reports ensuring data entry, extraction and analysis are accurate for year-over-year reporting purposes.
  • Partners with the Director of Operations to collect, validate, and produce annual career outcomes reports for internal and external marketing purposes.
  • Partners with Marketing Director to complete school rankings data submissions for school and accreditation data reporting requirements.


Participates in end-user training ensuring user competence, data access, and optimal performance of BI tools and processes. Participates in cross-functional teams to address business intelligence processes and services.
  • Provides training for new and existing team members on all technology platforms used by CMG, including 12Twenty and Slack.
  • Guides, supports, and trains colleagues as needed on data reporting functionality of the systems used to collect and share student data within CMG.

Required Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence functions and analytics.
  • Working knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications, and tools. Ability to write queries, produce reports and documentation.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-resolution skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills to professionally convey complex information in a clear, concise manner to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Collaboration tools (e.g., Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of methodologies associated with the analysis of processes and problems, information flow, and architecture.
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
  • Exemplifies Haas Defining Principles: students always, confidence w/o attitude, question the status quo, and beyond yourself.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and analytical skills to meet deadlines, reason on solutions, and effectively resolve minor to moderate problems.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with training staff at a variety of technical skill levels.
  • Understanding of cloud-based data analysis and visualization software tools such as MS PowerBI, Qlik, and Tableau.


Salary & Benefits

This is a non-exempt, biweekly paid position. Hourly salary is commensurate with experience up to $43.44
