Position: Budget Coordinator/Administrative Assistant                                                                   Department: Office of Title III

Status:  Full-time

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Communicates an informed understanding of the Title III program Closely monitors budget expenditures for fund availability Conducts monthly expenditure analysis to determine status of requested payments Work closely with Tuskegee University Grants & Contract Accounting department Provide technical assistance as needed to Activity Coordinators regarding Title III and institutional processes and procedures Assist Title III Director to monitor progress of related projects Log and track all requisitions, pay requests, check requests as they move through the institutional processing cycle Remains informed regarding Title III and Department of Education policies and grant terms/conditions Supervise work study staff Be a professional point of contact for a range of staff, campus and external stakeholders Find ways to improve administrative processes Scheduling of meetings and travel for office Taking notes and minutes in meetings Responsible for payroll submissions of staff and student workers paid through the grant Maintains the confidentiality of information

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Psychology or closely related discipline from an accredited college or Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years’ experience with budget management and related office responsibilities Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and demands Prior work experience in a university setting, a plus Proficiency in MS Office, with exceptional knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (Required) Strong commitment to excellence Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail Ability to problem solve and research issues as needed

Commensurate with education, training and experience
