Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
Promote and administer a Division II softball program
Provide leadership in the coaching, scouting, planning and executing all phases of the softball program and related activities, on and off the field
Coordinate and recommend softball athletic-related financial aid through the Director of Athletics, with final approval by the Director of Financial Aid
Direct and coordinate softball related selection and recruitment of student-athletes
Counsel softball student-athletes on personal matters and work to ensure their academic success and timely graduation
Maintain an inventory of all softball equipment and supplies
Recommend softball related equipment and supply purchases
Prepare and make budget recommendations to the Director of Athletics
Represent the University and its softball program to the community and alumni
Work within the framework of the SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and the NCAA Division II philosophy of athletics
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or the President of the University
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Effective communication, computer, organizational and interpersonal skills
Relevant coaching or playing experience
Experience as a head coach at the collegiate level
Salary
Commensurate with education, training, and experience
